In home landscapes, they accept alkaline or acidic soil and perform best in full sun and fertile, well-drained locations. Grandiflora is considered to have originated from South Asia and Southeast Asia with possibly Indonesia as the center of diversity. It is closely related to the Australian species, Sesbania Formosa.
